American Meishan Ear Tag Policy

Due to an excessive number of pigs not being tagged coupled with the amount of time the association devotes to ensuring the bi-laws are met on this matter, an updated ear tag policy is now part of our association. 

It is as follows: 

1. All new pigs must be tagged by the selling member/ breeder prior to selling to another owner. 
2. A picture of the legible & installed ear tag must be included with the Certificate of Registration Request. There is no additional charge for this. 

• A picture must be sent from the Breeder / Owner, only on a new certificate request.  
• If the certificate has already been issued, the buyer must provide a photo of the legible, installed tag before the Transfer of Ownership can be finalized. 

1. If an ear tag is lost, a replacement ear tag must be installed, a picture of the new tag should be taken and forwarded to the AMBA at ambameishan@gmail.com.
   The pedigree will be changed& noted but not reprinted unless: 

• Existing pedigree is returned to the AMBA 
• Reprint fee of $10-$20, based on membership level, is paid
